Director of Subscriber Services Call Center

The Nederlander Organization is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Subscriber Services Call Center.  This position is based in San Diego, CA and the ideal candidate would be a happy, enthusiastic individual with a mind toward excellent customer service and experience managing a phone room staff of 30+ people.  


The Director of Subscriber Services Call Center is responsible for the strategic execution of the regional Nederlander season ticket office call center, servicing the subscriber bases for five Nederlander Broadway Musical series, including Broadway in Hollywood, Broadway/San Diego, Broadway in Tucson, Broadway San Jose, and OKC Broadway. 


Core duties include management and leadership of process for the continuous improvement of the customer experience.  Operational focus is on customer care, quality control, workforce planning, recruiting, coaching, and training.  Performance metrics include call efficiency, low abandonment rate, staffing attendance and utilization, acceptable turnover, and financial performance.


The Director’s success is measured by the organization’s ability to provide high quality services-improving call performance, increased use of resources and adoption of new proven technologies, and achievement metrics.  Presently all calls are of an inbound nature.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members to efficiently leverage the value of every call for maximum customer service,
  • Develop and administer annual department budget to attain business goals with operational stability,
  • Deliver results against a defined scope of work that includes measurable ROI, strategic innovation, performance reporting, and human capital development,
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal and external Quality Assurance (QA) programs fostering continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations,
  • Develop and maintain effective organization of responsibility, including efficient recruiting, training, coaching, recognition, workflow patterns, performance standards, delineation of duties and responsibilities, staffing levels, and supervision,
  • Develop, execute, and maintain department strategic plan with ability to monitor and deliver necessary changes as needed,
  • Coordinate analytic, strategic, and technical resources to meet client expectations and ensure satisfaction,
  • Manage and expand client, coworker, and vendor relationships,
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and standards.

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher preferred,
  • Minimum 5 years of Call Center/Contact Center management experience,
  • Proven experience managing metrics, ensuring customer satisfaction, and reporting statistical performance levels related to Call Center,
  • Effective leadership and analytical skills including working knowledge of financial statement analysis, staffing models, scheduling, and telecom opportunities,
  • Exceptional ability to develop and manage results-oriented recruiting and training programs,
  • Strong mentoring and relationship building skills with ability to effectively manage group and interpersonal conflict situations,
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written and oral communications skills – including statistical report writing,
  • Computer Skills: Ticketmaster Archtics, Microsoft Outlook and Word with advanced Excel skills,
  • Occasional travel to subscription market venues or industry conferences required.

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is seeking energetic, articulate Ushers to work as front-line goodwill ambassadors for the theatre and our shows. Excellent customer service skills, a self-starter and team player are imperatives for this position. 

Ushers must:
• Be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 50% of the time
• Regularly move about the theatre while assisting patrons to their seats
• Frequently move playbill, stanchions and other front of house equipment weighing up to 25lbs
• The person in this position frequently communicates with patrons who have inquiries about their tickets including directions to their seats and well as information about the theatre.  
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in crowds and stressful situations.
Typical shifts are 4 to 5 hours and include nights, weekends, and holidays. $13.25/hr.

Spring 2020 Marketing Internships

Hollywood Pantages Theatre, the premiere venue for touring Broadway in Los Angeles, is offering undergraduate student internships for college/university credit for SPRING 2020. Interns will work directly with the Hollywood Pantages’ marketing team to get hands-on experience and training in live entertainment marketing, research, publicity, promotions, and events. Opportunities may include, but are not limited to: conducting market research; assisting at press and special events, and Opening Night red carpets at both the Pantages and Dolby Theatres; coordinating digital and print collateral needs for touring Broadway shows; and content creation for social media and promotions.


This internship requires participation in two annual events: the Festival of Books at the University of Southern California (April 18-19, 2020), and the Jerry Herman High School Musical Theatre Awards at The Montalbán on April 26, 2020 (with rehearsals from April 24-25, 2020). Basic knowledge of Broadway is encouraged, but not required.



Internships are unpaid, but applicable for academic credit at the intern’s educational institution. Parking is provided. You MUST be eligible for academic credit and submit official documentation of eligibility from your college/university in order to be considered. Please do not apply if you are not eligible for college/university academic credit. 



Scheduling is flexible, but availability to work at least 3 weekdays for 4-8 hours per day is preferred. Do NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT WORK AT LEAST 3 DAYS (M-F) EACH WEEK AND AT LEAST 4 HOURS PER DAY. Some weekend and evening availability for events is a plus, but not required.


We are currently accepting internship applications for Spring 2020. The start/end dates can be negotiated, depending on the intern’s academic calendar and schedule. However, we do require availability for the following:

  • Saturday, April 18, 2020 and/or Sunday, April 19, 2020
    • At least one 8-hour shift on the weekend for the Festival of Books
  • Friday, April 24, 2020 | Saturday, April 25, 2020 | Sunday, April 26, 2020
    • Availability on all THREE dates (8 hours/day) for the Jerry Herman High School Musical Theatre Awards

The historic Pantages Theatre in Hollywood is looking for energetic, articulate people to be the backstage goodwill ambassadors for performances during our Season. Excellent customer service skills are imperative for this position. Stage Door must be able to monitor the ins and outs of the show and theatre staff, secure the theatre before/during/after a show, and speak clearly so as to be able to provide direction and information about the theatre. Stage Doors must be team players, self-motivated, and able to work with diverse personalities and stressful situations. Typical shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays. $13.25/hr
